so last night i was watching bill mahr’s show…i’m not a fan normally, but husby loves it and i didn’t care enough to change the channel. so glad i didn’t flip the switch cuz i heard what may be one of the most ignorant things i’ve ever heard a woman say in public. here’s the context…mahr was conducting his own unofficial exit poll and asked random (ahem) people the same set of questions. questions included:
-
do you attend religious services? if so, how often?
-
who did you vote for?
so, this one woman he interviewed said that she was for obama all the way (because he just stands for SO much) and mahr inquired why. i can’t quote this woman’s exact words, but it was something along the lines of, “…[Mrs. Clinton] set us women way back by accepting her husband’s cheating behavior…”
what the f*ck???? i almost choked on my lucky noodles (happy belated chinese new years by the way)!! so, wait, now we are judging political candidates by what they will and will not accept/tolerate/ignore of their spouse’s behaviors?! i didn’t get this memo…
so, let’s see. if a male candidate’s wife abuses Rx pills (that would NEVER happen right?!) AND he accepts it, then he has set men back. SISTAH PUHLEAZZZZZZZE!!!!!!!!!!
i’m not saying that people have to respect mrs. clinton at all. but if they are against her for her political beliefs, fine. her policies are wack? fine. you never vote democrat? fine. but, to say she is unqualified and SET US WOMEN BACK is absolutely absurd and a pile of you-know-what.
why don’t u say what u really mean? “I didn’t vote for hilary because she is just too strong/agressive/bitchy/load/direct/[insert your own adjective here]/intellectual/outspoken/quick, etc., for me. She makes ME look bad because she has and continues to scrape tooth and nail to get exactly what she wants. I am afraid to stand up for what i believe in most of the time and any women that fights for what they want are scary. plus, i would never tolerate any cheating from my husband, because i’m just so righteous.” geez lady, to steal the words of the beloved john candy (r.i.p.) as Del Griffith from the movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles, “it must nice to be so perfect AND odor free!”

Not to mention the fact that this woman doesn’t know what went on behind closed doors. Who is she to say that Hilary “accepted” her husband’s cheating — was she there at the time? Did she witness firsthand how Hilary dealt with this obviously personal situation? We have no idea what went on between Hilary and Bill about the cheating, so we have no right to know — much less to publicly say on tevelision — that Hilary simply accepted the cheating. THAT woman sets us back for being so f-ing ignorant!
